Well, its here... The day all the apple knockers look forward too.. Put on their full Blaze Orange Suit and hit the woods and shoot the first that has Antlers 3 inches or larger.. You ride the roads up here and there is a vehicle EVERYWHERE...

Yep, I have a hunter who uses the property next to mine who has a blind set up on the fence line a few feet from my property and within sight of my best stand.
The deer probably will all be nocturnal by the time I return at the end of gun season.

I personally love gun hunting. Gives me a chance to hunt with my dad and I get to walk all over the place and not just sit on stand for day after day.
We can only hunt with shotguns so most of my shots are within 50 yards anyways. You can't just go slinging 300 yard shots.........even though some guys still try
Opening day is scarey though I will give you that one. I don't dare walk around on opening day. Too many fools out there with price tags still on their guns and nothing between their ears.

Yeah, dump a million hunters into the woods, and it gets crazy. I gun hunted on public land once. ONCE. Sea of orange. I still gun hunt and went this morning in fact, but on private land. The neighboring property to the south sounded like a warzone - 5-6 shots as quick as the trigger could be pulled. Don't know why you would want to shoot that many times, running deer? Whew.
I was thinking about taking my bow with me through gun season rather than my shotgun, I might just do that. Seems awafully easy though after a month and a half of watching deer so close you can count their eye lashes.
