just wandering what the cost of everybody's deer leases was. Here in oklahoms we pay from 2$ to 6$ an acre. Like most things in life it depends on who ya know but the cost of a good lease is getting pretty expensive for a teacher.

May be a dumb question but when you guys are paying for leases are you paying for wooded areas only? Or are fields also included in the price? Luckily, I still have permission to five privately owned areas plus my own 100 acres to hunt from all free. Leasing still hasn't caught on much in my neck of the woods but is starting.

My buddy and I just leased 75 acres in LaGrange Co. Indiana..one of the few hotspots in the state. Total price is $1,000..up to 5 people allowed. We walked the land Sunday..and it's GREAT! The land doesn't have a lot of woods...but the land is located between a large lake, and a large woods...they pass right through this property. Great place overall.

We paid $2400 for a completely wooded 130 parcel in Wisconsin this year. I guess it worked out to about $18.50 per acre, 3 guys max.
And we aren't seeing the type or number of deer I was really expecting either. [:@]

Well... right now nothing. We have one 265 acre patch that I mow the landlords big lawns on with his buchhog. Usually takes me 5 hours going wide open. I have a 2500 acre piece in NY that's still free except for occasional chores or favors that my brother takes care of. We give him some meat etc. but that's about it. I found out he likes Scotch and took him a couple bottles of Pinch one year... he said only if I'd sit down and drink it with him. I explained I didn't drink. I also had brought along a mixed case of exotic beers. My brother sat down and helped him drink half the case. He didn't want the scotch so it went to my brothers hunting camp.
