I read the advice "Aim for the exit hole" when shooting from a tree stand.
I can't figure this out, seems as though this would cause you to shoot too low. I know I am missing something.
Thanks for any help

Yea I had a hard time understanding that particular phrasing of the aiming process. Basically it means "aim taking into account where you arrow will exit" eg, aiming at the last rib on a quartering away shot. Shooting from a tree I aim just slightly higher on the deer than level.

I didn't read the deal, but I agree with what the others have said. But if you make a well placed shot and get both lungs or the heart, the deer won't go real far. It is another advantage to have the exit hole lower on the animal. It gets gravity working for you and your blood trail.

I may be the guilty party on this but I think there were some very good clarifications on the meaning. Its just a matter of visualizing where you want the arrow to exit and aiming accordingly.
