HOLY CRAP, its the Summit mother of all climbers!!
I just got my 2002 Summit catalog today. MY GOSH, the new 2002 Summit Revolution is probablly the NICEST treestand that I have EVER seen. It is a lounge style stand, it weighs 22 pounds. You get a 4-point body harness by Seat-O-The-Pants, Carrying straps, and a 5 year Limited Warranty. The platform is 20 inches wide by 28 3/4 inches long and has a rated capacity of 300 pounds. I suggest that everyone who is looking for a gun/bow climber check this out. It is probablly expensive, but I guarentee that it would be WELL worth it.
O yeah, Summit also came out with a 2002 Goiath, you guess it, full figured guys can now climb. It is rated at 350 pounds, it weighs 22 pounds, it has an 8,000 pound cable for unmatched stability.
O yeah, there is a new Mini Viper which is 17 pounds, rated for 300 pounds, it would be a perfect stand for a younger hunter.
I suggest that EVERYONE taks a look at these stands, go to www.summitstands.com or call (256) 353-0634 or fax at (256) 353-9818. CHECK THEM OUT BOYS!!!!
Hey, this is free advertisment for Summit, maybe they will send me a 2002 Summit Revolution hahaha, wishfull thinking I guess.
Good Luck This Season: Buck Magnet

That's the 2001 models. I'm still thinking about the Python pretty serious though. The shops going to let me take one out and try it when it warms up a bit. I agree with your tastes Magnet.

I want a stable, portable stand that has a superior locking system that weighs 7 pounds or less and that I can sit in comfortably for 16 hours.

Rack Attack, you definitely will enjoy the Cobra XLS; it is simply awesome. Comfortable, rock-solid, and easy to pack. I don't know how you can feel and be more secure, yet at the same time have so much freedom of movement and openness in front of you to allow unrestricted bow shooting.

I LOVE Summit stands. I have a Bushmast XL and it is probablly the best climber for bow hunters. It is small, compact, easy to climb, SAFE, comfortable, and VERY VERY LIGHT. It only weighs 16 pounds. It has everything that a hunter needs, and nothing that he doesnt. Seriously. It is comfortable, sure, it doesn't have a back rest or foot rest, but it is light and comfortable which are the things that I look for in a stand. I will NEVER ever buy a different brand treestand again. This summer I might be looking to get three hang ons and the Summit Copperhead XL are looking VERY nice. They are light, have big platforms and safe.

Hey buck Magnet, You are not on the payroll are you? I hate to sound like a broken record, but I have found very few products in the archery industry that have held my loyalty for more than a couple of years. Muzzy broadheads and Summit tree stands are realy the only two, that I have used for 5 or more years. Been using Summit stands for around 10, Still have my Saber, the first one I bought. It will still out preform any other stand that uses a V bar, and many cable stands as well. The new Aluminum stands with the cable attachements are simple outstanding! All of them are great. Those in the market for a new stand, need not look any farther. I also recently had the chance to try out the Copperhead XL Hang on stand, it like the climbers is simpley outstanding. fast and easy to set up, comfortable, and easy to carry. You also get a real saftey harness and video with their stands, somthing more tree stand manufactures need to think about. Now I sound like I am on the payroll, LOL
