well in the past two weeks i have killed to deer and i feel like a million bucks. they were both only does but hey a deer is a deer no matter its size or if it is a buck or doe.
anyways the first one i shot last tuesday out behind my uncles house in my cousins stand which he shot a deer out of on sunday. well i hunted this stand on monday and didn't see anything but a dozen squrreils. so i decided ahh maybe i will come back tuesday and give it a try well that is what i did i got out of school at 130 came home ate some food watched a little tv and headed out to the stand. got in the stand about 330 and sat there watching the squrreils play around well it was getting dark fast and the squrreils were still out so i was getting a little bored so i was like hey why dont i try and hit one of these squrreils so i shot i thought that i missed the little bugger the way it took off so i got down grabbed my arrow looked at it and discovered i hit it but i wasnt quite sure where it went so i just went back sat in the stand for like another 15 mins or so when i heard crunch crunch crunch my heart started pounding two little does came running in so i was like owyea this is in the bag i draw back my bow and the stinking arrow feel off the rest well i am watching the deer the one starts looking around and walking away while the other one is still standing there well i decide to take the shot quartering away at about 5 yards i shoot i watched the deer take off looked like nothing was wrong with it so i get down after about 5 mins because it is getting pretty dark and go to look for my arrow well now it is like black and i cant see nothing in the woods so i walk back to the truck put the bow away and grab the flashlight walk back to the stand look for the arrow i couldn't find it so i started looking for blood none to even speak of so i started questioning myself did i really hit this deer well i decided to just go home and talk to my dad who does not hunt but did year ago and talked to a couple of friends to see if they wanted to go back later and help me find it well after waiting about 4 hours me my buddy and my brother head out to go and find it well we are in the woods looking for my arrow and blood well we didnt end up finding any blood until we were about 50 years from the stand then there was puddles of bright red blood which got my hopes back up so we get going and its getting to be bigger and bigger puddles of blood well we get to this four wheeler trail after about a 100 yards of tracking already we go down the trail a little bit and something told me to look up and i did and there it lay all piled up nect to a tree i started yelling i was so happy i found it well the hit on this deer was really odd i will just say right off the bat it must have been quartering away a little more than i thought because my arrow knicked a rib and ran along the rib cage under the skin and into the front shoulder right under its leg and thats how it died because there is a main artery that runs along there that i hit it really suprised me that i didnt break through that rib because if i would have i would have caught both lungs but nonetheless the deer is dead and in the freezer.
now onto the one that i shot monday night of this week i was in the stand at about 315 nothing happening well at about 545 2 raccoons come in i bet you they were at the very least 25 30 pounds so i sat and watched them for a bit and it was 10 mins later when this doe came in all by itself giving me a quartering away shot at about 5 yards again well this time i lunged it and came out just above the front leg breaking it well the deer ended up running about 40 yards when i saw it it turned around and started walking toward me and tipped over and thats when i heard it take its last gasp of air and i knew it was dead so i practically jumped out of the stand to go and get it i knew right where it was so i went there to see the peferct shot double lunger
well thats it guys sorry about the long post its just that those are my 2nd and 3rd deer i ever shot so i am pretty excited
