Good deal on the commitment in finding him and that sure looks like a nice one! Just find a way to remind him that he learned several things about bowhunting that day. 30 yards is a long shot even after years never the less first day. Shot placement is everything and you just cant trust a coyote!

It has happened to most of us (lost the deer meat) and life goes on.
