Default Another QDM deer

Now I have all the meat I need. This doe came in with 3 others this morning. She walked out at 20 yards and started walking straight toward me while I'm at full draw. Finally she turned a little at 15 yards and I released. She ran about 20 yards and stopped before she walked off. I figured she would fall over, but she walked out of sight. I thought I made a good shot on her so I got down and found the dreaded brown slim on the arrow. I was going to wait a couple hours, but I heard deer in the creek the way she walked. So I took up the trail which was about 20 minutes after I hit her. I didn't try trailing, instead I walked to the creek, but on the way there I saw her laying dead. She went about 60 yards total. The hit was perfect for a broadside shot, but I guess she was angling toward me more than I thought. The arrow went through one lung and out the stomach. I love those Thunderheads. They made a fairly quick kill with a marginal shot. It's a big buck or bust the rest of the way out for me. Two weeks ago I got a 7 pointer and another doe.

Good job Jeff. Keep up the good work and good luck getting a big buck later in the season.

Great shot...and great deer...congrats.

Looks like you got a Mathews bow and a spot-hog sight. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes Walmart, That's a Mathews Q2 and a Spott-Hogg sight. That's the best sight out there IMO. I stayed away from anything plastic. I shoot Gold Tip arrows (just switched from aluminums this year) and will never go back and I shoot Thunderhead 100s. Three deer this year with this set-up, all pass throughs and the total distance they ran was about 140 yards. I'm a happy camper!
