Rocket Broadhead success with pics
Here is my first buck of 2004. Hoyt Cybertec, Goldtip arrows, Rocket Steelhead 100gr mechanical broadheads.
This was my first time using mechanical heads and the performance was outstanding. The arrow passed cleanly through the deer at 25 yards. I do have one complaint with these heads though: The threads on the brodhead are too short. I was not able to use the washer provided and observed damage to the arrow insert when the blades opened on impact. In my opinion, this is a serious design flaw. Has anyone else experienced this? For an upcoming blacktail hunting trip on Kodiak Island I will use the rocket 125 grain heads, the threads are longer. ![]() |

Nice deer, I always thought Rocket made the best mech heads. I was just curious ,how much does a bear hunt on Kodiak Island cost? I was thingking of trying it in a coupple years when my kids are old enough to go.
