yesterday morning i had a big 8 point walk about 10 yards out,i was 25 feet up.would have been my first.I thought i missed i could see the arrow but no blood on it.when i got down there was hair and an inch long piece of meat and very little blood on the fletchings. There was no blood anywhere on the ground,i walked the way he ran could not find a drop.Do you 's think he will heal up or die from infection? Its killing me.Hate to see one like that be wasted. Thanks

The reason your not seeing blood is the if the arrow was still in him it will take a while for the blood to start spurting frpom the wound.he could go a fare distance before the blood start's pumping out of the wound .I'd definetly go back and have another look around .They usually look for a place to lay down after being shot ,as long as you didn't push him he shouldn't be far away. But if you did push him he could be anywhere.

Any Luck Yet?? I would say to go look where the buck stopped and looked back at you, but if you don't find any blood there don't sweet it. Earlier this season I had a double lung shot on a doe and she ran 30 yards without bleeding a drop, just followed where I thought she went and managed to find her. Friday I shot a nice 8 point buck, cut the top of his heart and it also never bleed a drop and I found him about 70-100 yards on a logging road. Just keep looking and try not to give up, if you have a dog take it out, it may be able to pick up on the scent and who knows, anything could help. My dog has found two deer for me already, and it's a bulldog which is not thought of as much of a hunting dog. Good luck finding your buck, sounds like a nice one.
