I work construction. I've built ponds and cleared timber. The deer will settle down in a couple days. The only thing that might change is thier travel patterns due to the lack of cover. I've seen this first hand.

Hey I would just take it as a minor speed bump per say, let it lettle down a few days and get back out there!!!! That kind of activity helped my season out a few years in a row, deer are curious to that stuff for one, it provides browse(tree tops) and changes the terrain, it might very well work out to your advantage as long as they dont turn it into a barren wasteland. Good luck.

Thanks for all the replies. I know u guys are right. It just ticked me off to see them in there since we have been trying to be very conscience of what the farmer wants. (meeting neighbors, finding out where to park to stay out of the say, etc) We have met the farmer several times and in fact met with him two days before the work started and all he said was they may be in there by 07 to do some work. He should have told us then instead of the escavator telling us to move our stands the next week. I'll stick it out and quit complaining
. Hopefully, I'll be posting some pics in the next few weeks!!

I could understand why you would be a little ticked But the farmer is very fair plus the deer are not going any where`s, I would go back and give the farmer the money and get back out there and hunt! If you walk away from this what it sounds like is very good hunting. You will be only screwing you self up?[&:]

I can tell and know why that you are rightfully pissed! But to maybe shed some light on the situation, I have a buddy who had the same problem. Some guys brought in a dozer, some chainsaws and started cutting out some timber just behind his stand about 80 yards. I bet it wasnt a week or 2 later when he came knockin at me door with a nice looking 8-point buck! So no matter how bad it may seem, you still have to sick it out and get out there and hunt! Good luck to you.
