Default Great weekend (part 1)

Opening weekend here in Illinois was a bust for me. Spent about 12 hours on
various stands and didn't see a deer. Saturday, the 9th was different. I
had been seeing 3 small bucks in my subdivision where they are planning on
putting houses soon. I hung my stand late morning and got up there at 4:30.
Just before dark, this 7 pointer walks to me from the woods heading out to a
weed field. Instead of walking on the trail, he walks up to my tree and
looks up at me from about 10 yards. He spooks, but only takes a couple
jumps and stops behind a small bush. I drew my bow, but no shot presented
itself. He walked away and about 2 minutes later I see him out in the
field. I figured he would walk out in the field, but he walks behind me
next to the woods I'm in. I made sure I had a shooting lane to the field.
He hits that lane and about 20 yards and I nail him. He runs about 30 yards out
in the field, slows down and then falls over. That's the first of about 40
bow kills (deer and pigs) that I saw the animal fall.
