My best bow buck ever...
Saturday evening was fairly warm and the mosquitos were doing a number on me. Wasn't expecting to see much but as it started to cool down with sunset deer started working out into the corn fields i was watching. First at 6:00, 4 doe and a small 6pnt made there way past my stand. With the shifting wind i was really second guessing my stand selection for the night, the does seemed really spooky. About 30minutes passed as i watched them feed out though the field, when i heard a stick crack directly behind me. I turn really slowy to see a very respectable 8pnt working a scrape. After he was done demolishing an over hanging branch. He started walking towards the corn field. He slipped behind a tree and i came to full draw, but he stopped behind the tree for what seemed like forever. Im thinking oh great, im done he winded me... Finally he took about 3 steps and his vitals were showing, he was quartering away at 22 yards. I let her fly, and double lunged him- he only ran about 70 yards before piling up. I couldn't be happier with this buck, he is my best so far- beating my previous 8pnt by 2 3/4 inches. I've scored him at 106 1/8inches. Look out everybody Team 23 is on the board...
