I can tell you what is wrong with these people, RESPECT AND MORALS, Of which they have none. It's a shame that people want to ruin something that we all live for year round just because they don't care about anyone but themselves.

I climb with foot spikes so people have a harder time getting to my hang on as there are no tree steps etc. They would have to first get up there and then have some way of securing themself to the tree so they could use their hands to remove my stand.

Backpack in and out with a climber. Also have a ladder stand I attached a set of wheelchair wheels to so that it doubles as a game cart. I never leave them on public land, and only on private land if I hunt evening and will be back in the morning. I have two old chain-ons that aren't worth much but still work if I want to leave something in the woods.

I built sveral hang on stands this year and used an auger bit to drill about five inches into the tree every 16 inches up to them. I carry 10x1/2 inch bolts in an old day bag and climb with them. When I climb down the bolts come with me. Although this is not an option on public land it still makes it a little harder for the sob's to pilfer my stands. Sorry about your situation, and this happened on private property no less.

My friend had his stand stolen off of his OWN PROPERTY. It was $200 ladder stand. Needless to say he was pissed. The wierd thing about it was that they only took the top platform, and then just layed the ladder on the ground. [:@][:@]

Sorry to hear that Carp. Get this.... 8 treestands stolen this year off the private property I hunt. Went out to check them and some last minute renovations a couple weeks ago and they were ALL gone. I say an extra prayer everynight that I can catch the SOB(s) that did this.[:@][:'(][:@]

I had a buddy that had stands stolen off his property, and to add insult to injury, they stole his gates also. Thats right stole his gates! I dont know it you have bought any 16 foot heavy cattle gates lately but the are expensive. They stole six gates and a number of stands. They even went as far at to steal the L-shaped bolts screwed into the wood to hold the gates. He replaced the gates and had someone weld them on so they could not be removed. Some people[:@]. Makes you think about killing more than deer.

I had the same thing happen. I left my climber stashed behind a large rock, coverd up. I came back Saturday and it was gone. I had to hunt on the ground and a nice 8 walked within 15 yards of the tree I inteded to hunt, then of course he saw me in my little make shift ground blind. I have a good idea of who took the stand, but no proof. If I ever do find out for sure one way or the other he will be sorry.[:@] I feel for you. Nothing like having another violate the "trust of the woods"

Do people think these stands just grow on the trees like apples and are there for them to pick?[:@] I hope you are able to find the scum who took it. If you do press every possible charge you can against him and make an example out of him.
