I took this buck a few years back and he has one of those tumors on his front leg. The deer appeared healthy and the meat was as good as any I've ever eaten. The tumor came off with the hide when I skinned the deer.

I'bve heard of this last season 2 different guy's hunting in different group's ,but hunting almost in the same location .The one deer had severel of them around it's rear area and the hunter buried the carcass after they contacted the MNR ,They never showed so the hunter got rid of it .The other was burried as well since the hunter was worried that the meat might be bad or carrrying a disease or something .I'm not 100% sure that we're talking the same issue here but it does sound similar.
