Possible Pa state record Pics (shot last night!!!)
 

Here is a pic of a buck that was taken in Rothsville Pa last night, it's about 2 miles from where I work. It has 15 points and could be a new state record.

HOLY SMOKES!!! That's a big buck. I hope someone in my camp can get something like that this year. That thing would score high as a typ or non-typ.

I guess that person nor the photographer had read the "Quality Picture" thread...geessh, I hope they are not the best pictures of that buck available...


That being said, it doesn't look to be quite as big as the Halloween buck of a couple years ago so I'll be anxious to see the score. Sometimes we jump to conclusions on state records. Don't get me wrong, that is an incredible deer but again, it doesn't look quite as big as the Halloween 19 pt buck taken and that buck scored in at number 3 or 4 for the state before the skull broke and disqualified it......I'm betting this buck will score "NET" under the state record. The Halloween buck grossed 208(?) and netted 179(?) I believe...so

Any update on a rough score?

Rob, I'm not sure as to what the green score is because I just recieved the pics this morning however I am doing some research. As far as making the books I think it's going to have a tough time making N/T because the #1 buck scores 203. Which would put the Halloween buck at #7. However if it can beat 174-7/8 as a typical then it would take #1 but it's going to be close with deductions. I'm just saying it has a chance we'll have to see where it lands when it's all said and done.

Regardless, it's an incredible animal. I'm looking forward to more information. It's not that far off as far as looks to the Halloween buck. I'll try to post a picture that I have from the taxidermist when I was holding the mount prior to it being done. They are similiar in shape and size. WOW.

That is a monster. I dont think i could even draw on something like that. Its Buckzilla. If that only comes in top 5 in Pa, then i may have to cross the mason dixon to go hunting from now on.

I know if I shot a buck like that, I could care less what it scores or the records it could potentially hold. Don't get me wrong....it'd be cool to make book an/or get a record. I would be so damn excited about putting a deer down like that. I still be shaking with buck fever four days after the fact. Great deer.

I love seeing the big deer coming out of PA the last couple years. Antler restictions seem to be working wonders out there.

I know it's really not, but the rack looks as big as the deer itself in the first pic!;) How'd he keep his head up? Boy, that one is a whopper for sure. Rob, and Matt, hope you guys get one like that!

That is a sweet deer! That is a once on a lifetime buck. That is a great 100% wild, fair chase deer. I am looking forward to hearing the score of this dandy whitetail.

There is no way I could have shot that deer. I don't think I could draw the bow back after a heart attack. I sure do wish WI would go with AR. Probably never happen with this CWD.[:'(]

if that thing walked through the woods i'd probably wouldnt be able to draw either. The thing is a monster, if only i could see something like that in my stand. And if i did get lucky enough to take that monster down i'd probably hafta check my pants.:D:D

That's where B&C or P&Y and scores really take the beauty out of the sport. This is a monster and he has it all. High, wide and thick. If he scores low because of deductions, not as many points as a less beautiful buck or something like that, it takes away from the sheer awesomeness of this buck. People get hung up on score but that deer's a giant - no question.

UN-BEE-LEAVE-A-BULL!!!!! There is no way I would be able to climb out of my stand after shooting a monster like that. I would have to call in some friends to help me down from my stand.

Thta is one heck of a deer no matter how you look at it. I just wish there were more of those guys cruisin the woods in PA (at least where my crew hunts)

OK when did deer become migratory animals cause I swear to god that deer looks like he is fresh out of Iowa. WOW what a Buck. I don't get into the hype of the score as much as the story behind the hunt.

First of all, thanks for posting that pic. Five more days and I'm just getting more stoked every day. Second> CONGRATULATIONS to the person who arrowed that deer. If I took that deer I maight never hunt again. Why not go out big? But then again I believe that to harvest a buck of that caliber must be a life altering experience to a bow hunter. Once again; congratulations on a beautiful trophy.
