hey,
I had a buddy who shot a 6ptr w/o brow tines. It was about 4yrs old and when looking at the pictures with his scouting camera, we noticed a couple other yearlings and 2 year olds w/o brow tines either. It must be the genes. Atleast it was in my case[:-]

I killed one of those "Boone & Crockett" Forkies in the U.P. years ago. His rack was similar to yours but his body was HUGE. The prior winter had been very rough. I believe it is a combination of things that causes it, although your buck doesn't look that old. Sometimes it is hard to tell a lot from one photo however.

Nice buck Great Job.
This is a good reminder for us PA hunters that brow tines cannot be assumed.

I don`t` know why that is bowhntr03? But if you click on the bow hunting contest at the top of the pg. And under the elite-8 thread you will see the deer i took a couple of weeks ago. It is a real nice six pt. without brow tines! He`s not the biggest buck in the world but still real nice, Tall G,2`s and long main beams. Your four pt. is also a real nice buck. Congrats!

The 4 point in the picture might be 1 1/2, in Texas he would be 2 1/2. Finding a buck that does not have brow tines is nothing rare. Down here we would consider that buck a "cull" and would take him out of the herd, well most of the time anything that has less then 8 points and is 2 1/2 years or older is considered a cull buck. Good job getting him out before he did any breeding.

That definetly is a nice 4pt, congradulations. A guy a hunt with killed a big 4 a few years ago, it had a 17 1/2 inch inside spread and no dog prongs.

Looks like a young deer, that big for a fork horn!

I shot a small 8 pt in PA this year during archery season, funny thing was there were 3 bucks together, my 8, a 3 and the biggest was a 4 pt, looked just like the one in your picture. PA has a 3 pt/side rule where we were so I had to let the 4 pt walk even though he was the biggest of the 3.
