Default They didn't stand a chance..

I just got home from my annual bowcamp and as usually we put the hurt on em. I left last Thurs. afternoon and hunted Fri, Sat, Sun, and Mon. I only had two deer within range and killed one of them, a nice doe.

Friday was a bad day. A front was moving thru and it was windy and all get out. Nobody killed a deer.

Saturday brought the expected results. The front had passed, temps dropped about 10 degrees and it was on like a chicken bone. Randy killed a small doe at 50 yds. He's a helluva shot. Paul stuck one but he thinks it was too far foreward above the shoulder. It bleed good for awhile then like a switch it quit. Dave shot a huge doe that afternoon.

Sunday was the best day of all. After we all saw deer that morning we were pumped to get on our stands that afternoon. I shot a nice doe, Randy killed another huge doe, and Jeff killed another doe. My deer came in from behind me just perfect. Once it got a tree in it's way at about 18 steps I drew and when it stepped out I let the air out of it. It ran about 40 yds away and stopped. I could see where I hit and I was thinking it was too far back. I had just thought to myself, "This deer might be hard to find" when it fell over dead. It raised it's head up once and then laid back down and never moved again.

Paul killed a small buck the next morning and that was it.

All in all there were 6 of us hunting. We killed 7 deer in 4 days. Nobody ever saw a big buck. I saw three different spikes and a few forked horns and a small 6 point.

I'd post some pics but Matt/Hitler would not be happy

those impressive #'s weren't so impressive while I was cutting up four deer this afternoon. I'm done for awhile unless MR BIG comes along.
