Default First bow deer

I've had my bow for a few years but have only been in the stand a few times. Well, this year I've made it a point of getting out more and headed up to my sister's farm this weekend. I was setting out to get a shot at a doe and the first night I was sitting in the wrong stand as about 25 does came out about 60 yards down from my stand. The next evening I setup in a stand right close to the trail they were using and waited. The wind was good blowing from the woods into the field and the I spotted the first doe coming down the trail. She passed by me at about 10 yards as I drew and put the pin on an opening and waited. I watched her until just before she hit the opening and then focused on the peep sight. I released the arrow and at first thought I hit her farther back than I wanted but blood was pouring out of her when the arrow hit. She turned and ran downhill. I got down just to check where I hit her and saw alot of blood. Went back to get my pack and see about following the trail. It was easy to follow and I found her dead about 80 yards down the hill. I went back later and ranged the shot at 17 yards. So this is my first shot with my bow and it turned out good. I put a bonus tag on her so I still have at least two tags to fill for bow/rifle. It's venison in the freezer so the girlfriend is happy and so am I!!!!

Congrats. Gotta keep them girlfriends happy. Good luck with the other 2 tags. If she is excited about one I can't wait to hear what she thinks if you fill them all.
