what r the deer eating now in the woods???

it's pretty bare here in the pa area...and delaware. very few crops...what r they keying on now...i am still finding persimmon seeds in dropping...

We have a couple inches of growth in some pastures were not using and they feed there quite a bit at night .In the woods we have some trees that still have leaves and any they can reach are gone .They don't eat them through the summer but this time of year it seems to be a main food source .

The deer around my house are eating ,corn,roasted soybeans ,sorgum all supplied by me in my back yard.Last year I went thru 1200lbs of the stuff,but boy I got fat deer in the yard.this year one of the does got hit in front of my house and I have it in the freezer. 181 lb dressed

Here in my neck of the woods the elk and deer are feeding together on all the available browse they can find.... above the 2-3 foot snow line. My mineral and salt licks are getting hit hard. I too have been putting out apples and corn for winter carbohydrates combined with alfalfa bails for extra protein.
