I started with one pin. When I got my new bow & sight it had 5 pins. I just started shooting, and was having one heck of a time adjusting to all the pins. Finally, I took all but one out and what a difference. I have been shooting great (with other adjustments, too).
I was thinking of putting one more in for 30 yards and did the other day. I don't know if it will stay. I really don't like the 2 pins in my peep. Like someone said - just more clutter. I feel I'll go with 1 pin for 20 yds. and aim about 9" high for 30 yds. (that seems to be the drop) if I ever get a decent 30 yd. shot (probably won't ever take one).

I too only have one pin and its set for 20 yards. I know my limits and I would not shoot at a deer over 25 yards. Simpler is better and the one pin works for me

I went to a single pin last season but I'm back to a multi pin this year. I like the single pin for target shooting but decided it was best to keep a multi pin setup for hunting.

I only shoot with 1 pin also, I practice out to 40 yards but set my pin at 25 yards for hunting. In my stand locations, the longest shot is 30 yards. I've never shot a deer with a bow that was more than 17 yards away.

Only one pin here also, sighted in at 25 yards and can comfortably out to 30 without any problem. Mine is a chart/green color and it is good and bright in low light conditions.

One pin, you bet! Its the only way to go if you have a fairly fast set-up and shoot 35 yards and less. I keep my max distance at 30 yards.

Good Luck!

I am a one pinner also. Switched to it last year and love it. Can't go back. I have it set at 23 yards and shoot to 40.

I have 3 pins set up for distances of 10-20 and 25 and 25+....but i dont go much further than 25. So i just use my first two pins. It would probably be good to get rid of the other eh?
