Deer Rut Setup in east central IL
Red lines are property lines.
Green lines are fence lines.
Yellow shape is the main bedding areal
The white Xs are possible stand sites.
The woods are fairly large, probably about a thousand yards apart in some places. It is very thick brush in the yellow area, and I kicked a 150 class ten pointer from there last year when I was scouting. The southern edge of the woods contains a old house foundation that has a clear cut all the way around it. The woods are surrounded by corn and bean fields, and the heart of the woods contains a ridge about fifty yards wide with valleys on each side. It runs SW to NE through the center of the woods. Any suggestions on any more stand spots? The spot furthest west is where I was thinking, because there is a huge trail from the bedding area and the fenceline was littered with rubs and scrapes. I will be hunting this during the prime runt. Any Suggestions?

Looks to me like you have the place covered.
Your question was about setting up for the rut. Find the does, you'll see the bucks... the only thing I might add is a stand on the west side of the bedding area for south and east winds.
