? on taking P&Y H3 & H4 measurement on a 7 pointer?
Ok here is the question. You have a typical racked 7 point a 4 x 3.
Where do you take the 3rd and 4th circ measument from on the 3 point side?
On the 4 point side the 4th circ is taken half way between the g3 and the end of the main beam. Well what about when there is no g3?
I have never had to score a 6 or 7 point and don't know how to take the circ for this.
I am just trying to rough score the buck, and trying to decide if he is one I will be looking out for this fall.
He is an absolute giant of a 7 point well over P&Y if the 8 point was present. I can't tell if it was broken off flush with the main beam or if it just never grew a matching g3.
In the P&Y scoring guide I read when trying to figure this out it says all bucks are credited with 8 circ measurements. So I dont know what to do for the 3rd and 4th mass measurement on the 3 point side????

RE: ? on taking P&Y H3 & H4 measurement on a 7 pointer?
You take the measurement in equal lengths between the last tine and the end of the beam.
For instance, if there was say 9" of beam left after the point you would divide it into 3 sections, and take one measurement 3" from the tine and then 6" from the tine.

Thats what I was guessing but wasn't sure! I searched all over the net and could not find reference to this scenario. Huntingnet comes through again
