I'd try to keep a low profile on the situation. If this guys gets to the landlord and starts complaining, he may change his mind about allowing you to hunt. If you are not worried about the landlord, themn just do your thing.

I would have never asked the landlord. You are renting a house with what 9 acres (sorry I didn't go back and read) I would have just hunted it. I don't recall in any of my leases to my tenants an anti-hunting clause. If it's legal to hunt it then just do it.

Good luck

If you've got permission to hunt and you're legal(not within x # of feet from a house) screw him. Arrow a couple and hang in a tree in the front yard;)

I don't wish anything bad on the anti's, I just wish they could see through their naoow point of view. Perhaps the guy would be happy if the deer population exploded and he had to clear up dead deer out of his back yard due to starvation or pick one out of his windsheild.

Those idots just don't understand. In the day of survival of the fittest these fools would have been gone long ago. Some time I wish nature and the circle of life would take back over:)

Then I'd just hunt it without worrying. What a jerk to try to tell you what to do. He needs to mind his own bussiness.

Thats what ticks me off about many of the animal rights crowd. They can't just mind their own business. They could adopt a "live and let live" attitude, but many choose not to. When was the last time you heard of a person that was a hunter confronting and yelling at someone who didn't hunt or someone that was anti-hunting. It never happens. It shouldn't happen. Those who engage in this behavior are breaking the law. Harrasment and assault and battery come to mind. Apparently they've taken on the Muslim code of behavior which is you get to treat anyone in any manner you wish if that person is in defiance of your personal belief system. Yelling at you and making threats was just plain wrong, but involving your young one in this was just downright classless.

I'd mention the encounter to your landlord. Just to make sure he's aware of what went on.

What you do is go in there and get the big boy and then string it up in an ajoing tree for him to see. Then just point and laugh or maybe give him a little friendly wave that will make his blood boil.

Just to add on to matts comments about asking if hes a vegetarian, don't forget to ask if he wears leather boots, has a leather wallet or jacket and see if he will let you go through his house to make sure that he doesn't have anything that involved killing an animal. Wouldn't want the poor guy to be part of the butchery[8D]
