RE: How old is your hunting bow?
This is my 2nd season with my Browning Vanguard LX but I still have my trusty Martin Cougar II that I bought new in 1980. Hunted with that bow for 23 years and never had a problem with it.

RE: How old is your hunting bow?
Have had my PSE Beast for 6 years now. Have had no complaints or problems, but I sure am getting itchy for the newer faster bows.

RE: How old is your hunting bow?
My MM VFT is about 9 months old. I guess I would fall into that category you mentioned in regard to buying new bows each year though I do not consider myself one of the "better hunters" on the board. The equipment/technical aspect of the sport trully fascinates me. There is just so much out there to tinker and experiment with. It is almost addicting. :)
I have one of those new Jennings's bows on order as well though I sincerely doubt it is going to knock the Mighty Mite from the top spot of hunting bows. :D |
RE: How old is your hunting bow?
I'm shooting a 12 year old XI Demon. (a bow which was pretty much obsolete when i bought it)
It still has it's original string even. Most of the strands are still there. heh heh (it's a stupid size and I'm too lazy to figure out how to order a new one) Still, it kills stuff if I do my part. I have a 'back-up' compound which i use for bowfishing. It's an Astro Stinger which I bought in 1985. I think that bow is made out of cast iron and truck leaf springs. If I hold the string and hold the bow horizontal....it practically draws itself. ha ha Then there's my 1970's recurve. |
