Default Martin or Mathews?

Im trying to choose between a Martin Phantom ll (IBO 310) $360 and a Mathews Fx (IBO 308) $360. Both short bows around 34" about a 1/2" difference in brace height. Which is a better bow?

i had a marting cougar a couple years ago and i liked the hell out of it. i switched to a mathews SQ2 about a year ago. and i really like this bow. has hardly any kick to it. small. light weight. i much rather prefer the mathews. but havent really looked at the mathews fx bow so dont know on that part. just my 2 cents

I'd find a place to try them out and see which one feels best. Heck, you might find that neither work well for you and end up going with a totally different make/model.

I have the FX and like it a lot. I wouldn't know about the Martin, but just letting you know that I am pleased with the Mathews.

Martin has a "hot chick" in there adds so they must make a better bow than Mathews????

I currently shoot a Hoyt Cybertec. I used to shoot a Martin Cougar Speed Flight. I really liked the Martin, but I was ready for a change because I have this problem where I get bored with things... Anyway, I shot the Matthews Legacy and I found the transition to the let off break point to be very jerkey and I felt the bow was really uncomfortable in that it really seemed to not have a real let off that was comfortable. I also shot the Hoyt which was a much more comfortable bow for me. I now own a Hoyt Cybertech.
