Well this is my first post here, been reading for a few weeks.. I have been researching bows and bow accesories for a couple of weeks now. I shot some back when I was about 15, Im 27 now and have been wanting to get back into it for a year or so now. I took off work early today and drove 70 miles to the nearest Mathews dealer who also carries Bowtech.

To make a 3 hour long story short I looked at alot of both brands of bows and narrowed it down to the Mathews Outback or the Bowtech Liberty. I loved the weight of the Liberty, but just couldnt get over how the Outbacks total package felt. So I went home with the Outback.

I havent shot a bow in 10 years or so and within 30 minutes of shooting was amazed how good I was shooting with this bow. Anyways just thought I would say hello and thanks for the great info on this site it helped alot in my decision.

well with the great info on this site ..I didnt have to post the typical "What bow should I get?" Or "What rest do I need" Or "What arrows should I shoot"...

Just thought I would make a post on how happy I am to own a bow that I like and shoots well for me.. and from what I read a few others on the site...

Glad to hear you have a bow that you are comfortable with and shoot well, that's what matters. Don't let the anti-Mathews post get to you . I did the same as you, I tried the 03's bbbbb's and the 04 bbbbb's. Ended up buying a Mathews Outback also. There are alot of great bows out there, but the Outback is the one I'll be taking in the woods this year. Hope you have a GREAT season.

Welcome to the forums and congratulations on the new bow. I think you had one heck of a final group of selections. Any way you went I do not think you could have gone wrong.

Heck I'm not anti Mathews by any means....and if they change that oversized wooden handle I might even consider one......might.

I think Springer01 took it just as it was written, in gest and I hearily welcome him aboard and I again look forward to his first buck pic with his new.....big wooden handled bow.

Welcome Springer01 I can tell from your very first post that you are a person of great knowledge....that's what lead you to the best bow on the market today. Seriously though I love my Outback and I'm sure that you will to.

Welcome to the boards. I too tried the outback but for me it just wasn't right. I went with the xTec and love it. That seems to be the main thing, you need to love your bow. Sounds like you do. Enjoy it and post a pic with your first deer.
