RE: Need some advice.
Superrman77,
I was down in Louisville this past April for a family wedding. Nice state, but long a$$ drive back to NJ with wife and two infants! Anyways, I used to own a Honda Accord and that was my only car. I survived many successful hunts by using a drop cloth and a 10x10 tarp. Just put it into your trunk and make sure all four sides come up and when your deer is in you can fold the sides back down onto the deer. I also used a bungy cord to keep the trunk lid down tight if I was unable to close it all the way. |
RE: Need some advice.
We use a clean cotton sheet on top of a tarp. The sheet soaks up the blood and the tarp keeps the sheet from messing up the interior of the vehicle. So far so good.

RE: Need some advice.
My brother recently got out of the army and somewhere (Iraq?) he ended up with a body bag. It is about 7' long and plenty roomy. I don't know where you could get one but I think it would be exactly what you are looking for especially if your wife has a nice car.

RE: Need some advice.
If I had to take the car for whatever reason and bagged a deer then I would just call the wife up and ask her to bring the truck to me.
Another option would be to call up a buddy and ask him to meet you there. It would be a great asset as well because he can help you drag it out of the woods and load it.Who knows maybe someday you might have to return the favour. Also the plus side to all this is you have someone to share your hunt with and someone will be available to take lots of pics to remember the hunt . If my suggestion is not an option then just put a tarp in the trunk;) |
RE: Need some advice.
I buy the cheap plastic painters drop cloths that they sell at home improvement stores. They are very large and work well when folded twice (4 sheets thick)
Years ago I used to line my trunk with one but since SUV's I simply line the cargo area. They are very cheap And are packaged very small to keep in trunk at all times. Buy a few and you will be surprised what uses you will find for them. I have never had one leak and they fold up small so throw away is easy. Mr.D |
RE: Need some advice.
Hey take the car and not to wish any bad luck on you but when you get one drive back and get the truck. Once you know that you put a good hit on him get down go to the car and get the truck. It will give you the added time he made need to die. I found myself in the same problem last year but my cav is not very accomendating for my gear. I was lucky enough to get my when we got a first plast of snow last year and I had the blazer. Cleaned him out and tied him to the luggage rack. When I pulled in to the house I thought the girlfriend was gonna s***. City girl with not many outdoor skills. My plan is to get her out this year but all she keeps talking about is what she is going to do to hair. That is another topic that I displayed a while back but I am still working on her.
