A good friend of mine, Buster Greenway , invited me to go to Colorado to his special place , for an ELK HUNT. Buster and I met several years ago a hunting show, and I converted him to my TURBOS.
Well We were at a show in minn last spring and got talking about taking an elk with the TURBO setup. We both sponser Greg Hopf.s show on the Sportsman Channel and decided to see if we could come up with an entertaining video and perhaps a different type hunt.
There was a stand selling cow decoys made from cardboard and Buster commented that he could probably get real close to an elk if he used one of them. Where he hunts, the angus and the elk use the same water holes.
I put my two cents in and brought up the idea of making a black angus suit to wear and see if one could actually mingle with the elk.
I used to design costumes for shopping malls .
Buster and I both had a little chuckle about this, and then almost instantly decided this would make great video.
ON sept 16 I will be meeting Buster in Maybell Colorado and we are going to try out the suit. I am going to be the camera man on this hunt and buster who has taken 12 elk in the past 14 years is going to wear the suit.
Yeah , it is a little crazy, but it should make for some enjoyable video at the very least. I will post the outcome of this adventure.

Nick,
Which end is the arrow gonna shoot out of?[:-]
By the way what are ya gonna do when a 300" bull gets territorial and tries to run you off or just flat out kill you.[8D] Worse yet while a flyfishing guide in Montana I watched numerous Bull Elk try to mount the domestic cattle over and over chasing them as if they were cow elk. Make sure your the front section baby.......[:-]
Ok nevermind I see the suit now, your virginity should remain intact.
Yep that should make for some interesting video.

You know how they say that predators go after the sick first. Well I'm here to tell you.... you're the SICK ONE. LOL LOL LOL

[8D] Have fun and we expect a full report and lots of pictures. Be careful out there.[8D] Watch out for the cow eating cougars. The thing about it is.... it'll probably work slicker than doo doo. Oh, that reminds me, make sure you roll that thing around in a couple juicy cow plops. You have to have the scent along with the visual.[:'(] I'm impressed really. It really should work. If nothing else, see how close you can stalk one of those buggers without him going into the next county. I think if you go at it in a wandering manner you'll walk right up to them.

Buster is a retired Chicago Cop and would probably take it as a compliment when I say that he is one of the few people I have met that is probably crazier than me.
We are taking into account the potential risk of a frisky Bull and will have some backup there and will abort the mission if the cattle or elk do not cooperate. I designed the suit to be real easy to get out of.
the back part weighs less than five pounds and is worn like a backpack and is quite easy to discard.
Although this idea is at first kind of funny , it is based in ancient hunting methods. The American indians used to use buffalo hides as camo when hunting.
I actually met a hunter at a recent show who took a real wary buck by borrowing a horse suit from some four H kids and used it to get in range of the deer. it worked.

Two hunters have an idea on how to kill a monster elk................dress up like one and make love sick calls to the bull, when the big elk appears and approaches the two hunters the one in the front says"okay jump out and shoot em" the guy in the back says" the zipper is stuck, what do we do?" The guy in the front says"ill act like i am nibbling grass, but you better brace yourself!"

Looks interesting.
