# arrows in your quiver?

I purchased a small and light 3 arrow quiver by Alpine Archery, partly b/c I tend to get down and slip hunt after sitting in my stand for a few hours. I shot a good size buck last year doing this. Anyway, as a way to hold down on the weight, I thought the smaller quiver was adequate, wondering why anyone needs more than three arrows. However, I generally never see a hunting show where the hunter carries less than five or more arrows. Am I missing something?

RE: # arrows in your quiver?

I don't see much reason to carry more than 3. My only concern would be during the rut, if you are going to be on stand all day, and you have "one of those days"....

Another concern for me is dropping them out of the stand. Now that I shoot a biscuit, they don't fall off the rest, but I have still knocked one or 2 out of my quiver pulling up my bow. I'd have to climb down if I only had 3 arrows.

With the exception of one deer, (5 shots...don't ask, it was a LONG time ago:D) I have never needed more than one arrow.

4 arrows, but if I drop to many I have a weighted treble hook to retrieve such Items. Ie: cap, gloves, jacket.:D

This year I decided heck with it. I'm only carring 1 since I can only enter my first buck in our little contest.

My PSE Mongoose quiver can hold 6, but I usually only carry 4 XX75's with me.

My current quiver holds 4 but I'm looking to switch to an Alpine Archery 5 arrow quiver soon.

I have a Golden Eagle bow that holds 4 arrows.

RE: # arrows in your quiver?

4 arrow quiver here as well. I like the fact the quiver is mall and not bulky and I can shoot with it attached and hardly know it's there. I can legally shoot more than 1 deer on a hunt at one of my properties but I can't ever see shooting more than two in one hunt so anymore than 4 arrows is overkill IMO.

I use to carry six on my old bow and never have I shot more than two arrows.

5 arrow quiver. I always carry at least one pratice arrow with a blunt tip. So normally 3-4 arrows with Thunderheads.

Mine holds 6, more than enough usually. Dang turkeys...
You never know what will happen. I fondly remember a day when I went home with 4 bloody arrows in my quiver. The dead numberd 1 8 point and 3 coyotes:)

RE: # arrows in your quiver?

I have an Arrow Web and it holds 4 comfortably,

I always stick a Judo point in there also so I wedge in 5.

When I'm Elk hunting I carry 3 more in my pack w/o broadheads attached. If I fell on my quiver and busted some I would have some spares. Nothing worse than elk all around and no arrows!

I CARRY four.............only 3 are good, the fourth is a bad arrow i always carry, i carry this arrow to get deer moving if they are held up in a staging area. Ill shoot that arrow with a field point into a tree next to the deer and they just get a movin'!:D

4 xx75s in mine. A question since we are on this subject. Does anyone else remove thier quiver on stand or is it just me? I use a bungee to attach it to the tree oince I am up. I think it keeps the noise down when I shoot.

RE: # arrows in your quiver?

I just carry a 5 arrow quiver, but it is detachable, so I will usually go ahead and use 5 arrows. I have to detach mine because it makes too much noise. I also occasionally equip 2 arrows with small game tips for those pesky squirrels ;)

Kwikee Kwiver Lite = 4 Arrows , 3 with sharp 100 grain muzzy, 1 with a dull muzzy for shooting little critters.

I've been carrying 5 on a detachable. I like the bungee cord idea. Gonna try it in my stand this year. Thanks.

RE: # arrows in your quiver?

Mine holds 4, but I certainly don't see the need for that many unless I'm on stand all day. But even then.....If I shoot and miss that many times, better hang it up and hit the range again until you can hit the broadside of a barn.

5 in my Catquiver........4 with feathers, and one with small vanes confirmed to hit with the others for any nasty weather.

I only carry three to the field to hunt with...
When I am practicing I take all of my arrows with me...

4 total

1 for the money
2 for the show
3 to get ready
4 to drop out of the tree stand.

RE: # arrows in your quiver?

Depends. Could be either 3, 4 or 6. If I'm trying to be as compact and light weight as possible I use my Kwikee Kwik 3. If I'm just making a short afternoon hunt, I'll slip on my Kwikee Combo which will give me 4 (one for varmints). If I'm going to pull an all day hunt, I'll carry 6 in my Catquiver III and fold my quick 3 up and attach it to the tree when I get there. .
