Default # arrows in your quiver?

I purchased a small and light 3 arrow quiver by Alpine Archery, partly b/c I tend to get down and slip hunt after sitting in my stand for a few hours. I shot a good size buck last year doing this. Anyway, as a way to hold down on the weight, I thought the smaller quiver was adequate, wondering why anyone needs more than three arrows. However, I generally never see a hunting show where the hunter carries less than five or more arrows. Am I missing something?

I don't see much reason to carry more than 3. My only concern would be during the rut, if you are going to be on stand all day, and you have "one of those days"....

Another concern for me is dropping them out of the stand. Now that I shoot a biscuit, they don't fall off the rest, but I have still knocked one or 2 out of my quiver pulling up my bow. I'd have to climb down if I only had 3 arrows.

With the exception of one deer, (5 shots...don't ask, it was a LONG time ago) I have never needed more than one arrow.

4 arrows, but if I drop to many I have a weighted treble hook to retrieve such Items. Ie: cap, gloves, jacket.

This year I decided heck with it. I'm only carring 1 since I can only enter my first buck in our little contest.

My PSE Mongoose quiver can hold 6, but I usually only carry 4 XX75's with me.

My current quiver holds 4 but I'm looking to switch to an Alpine Archery 5 arrow quiver soon.

4 arrow quiver here as well. I like the fact the quiver is mall and not bulky and I can shoot with it attached and hardly know it's there. I can legally shoot more than 1 deer on a hunt at one of my properties but I can't ever see shooting more than two in one hunt so anymore than 4 arrows is overkill IMO.

I use to carry six on my old bow and never have I shot more than two arrows.
