RE: One eye or both

I shoot with one eye open. I am right handed and left eye dominant and when I try to shoot with both eyes open, well lets just say it's not pretty.:D

shoot both ways.

3-D set up I shoot one I shut

Hunting setup both eyes open
How do you keep from subconsciously closing one of them in the thick of things?

I am naturally a both eyes open shooter.

During the 3-D shoots it is just automatic to shut one eye. It just falls in line with the rest my form and anchoring. Through repetition I just do it[8D]

Whenever I start thinking about shooting both eyes open I always try it and my lefteye kind of takes dominance and the peep dissapears? Any suggestions.

One eye open (left eye dominant, left handed). If I try to open my right eye, I see two targets, or two sets of pins, or bizarre freaky things. ;)

Even in the Coast Guard, way way back in the days of bootcamp.... I remember, I just COULD NOT shoot the M16 righty. I was one of those "special recruits" where the had to clip a shroud of some sort onto the ejection port, so I wouldn't get biffed by ejecting shells. Anyway, I shot the M16 lefty and qualified easily with it.

My old PSE bow is a lefty model. My Remington 870 12GA is a lefty model. But my old Marlin Model 60 .22 is righty (which doesn't really matter shooting it lefty - I just learned to hold my right elbow down bit when I was a kid.

One eye open for now. I have thought about keeping both open but I will wait and work on that for another year.

Right handed bow, left eye dominant. Trained myself to shoot with both eyes open, now if I close one, it's way to dark. Whatever works for you, but try to master both open, it's a whole new world when you can.
