If I remember the story correct they found him just a few miles from the area where he was stolen.
I believe they found him somewhere in Jefferson county....about 50 miles away.

i live right in the punxsy area right near reynoldsville. The story was released to the paper today. the deer was stolen five years ago from the wild bunchranch in knox his name was goliath at the time the buck was 2yrs old 260 lbs and had 28 pts. stolen by spence owner of white oak whitetail deer farm. he was recovered 50 miles from knox in reynoldsville spence protested it wasn't goliath he was his buck named hercules at the time was for sale by spence for 150,000$ but dna samples confirmed it was goliath the buck in now back at miller's farm at 300 lbs and a lot of points. the reward offered by miller was 100,000$ !!!

I thought (I should say a vaguely remember) that the people who hijacked the deer smuggled him into Canada somehow with the help of some crooked Canadian border guards.

Or maybe I'm thinking of another deer smuggling operation? I don't know.

I think i remeber reading about that in a magazine but dont get my wrong i would shoot him in a heartbeat if i saw him hunting! (if i was shaking so bad)
