Default Parker Extreme Ultra-lite???

I'm about to seal the deal on it later today. Any thoughts or comments on that bow? It will be my first compound bow, I'm giving up the crossbow!
Thanks

Congrats on the new bow
I currentky own 2 of the Parker Ultra Lite 31's...... and they are sweet little bow's. I have had a great time shooting them for both 3D Competition and for Bowhunting. I get comments all the time on how quiet the bows are when I am shooting them.
I hope you thourghly enjoy your new bow and your switch from crossbow to compound bow. May I ask why you are switching?

Lady Forge, I have no problems drawing the bow, but I have no accuracy unless I use a rest. I guess it weights too much. Also, it's really bulky going through the thick stuff. The first time I tried both the compound and crossbow, I was intimidated by all the adjustments that might be needed for the compound bow, so I bought a crossbow.I actully shot the compound bow quit well the first time, surprised me. I'll have the pro shop set it up the first time( going to see if he'll let me watch and learn!!) and maybe I'll be able to do the lower tech stuff.

I looked at the Ultra Light last night while at the pro shop, and I was amazed at how light it was. I didn't shoot it, but it definately has me kicking around the idea of upgrading from my Parker Hunter Mag.

oh.doe; Sounds like you made a wise move then to the compound and with the lite weight of the Ultra Lite you shouldnt have any problem with holding it then Best of luck to you with your new bow.
Txhunter;
I have shot with many an archer shooting the Hunter Mag's, they have all been impressed with the accuracy of the bow and it has shown on their 3D score cards.... now I have only shot it once and I liked it, but not as much as my Ultra Lite... although I do find the ultra lite to be a bit critical of my shooting form.... it kinda makes me have shoot with the best form possible..... mistakes in shooting form seem to show in my shot's a bit easier..... but I personally prefer a bow that will demand the best from me to shoot consistantly with the best form possible. Seems many around here shooting the Hunter Mag are showing good hunting success with their Hunter Mags also.

The Hunter Mag is my first bow. I got a great deal on it, all the accessories, case and arrows that couldn't be beat. I like it alot, but it's last years model, so it's kinda heavy for my liking, so the 2.9 oz of the Ultra Lite compared to the 7.0 lbs of my setup is really noticeable.

This is the Stabilizer that I am using on my Parker UL31, I have been getting many comments on how quiet the bow is since I have been using this stabilizer, its length is 10.5 inches and weighs 5.2 oz they also make it in a shorter version and longer versions for target archery.
It has worked very well at taking the handshock out of the grip and dampening vibration and works very well at quieting the bow, I will be using it also for bowhunting this year.
I have used the Parker line of stabilizers, Doinkers and Vibracheck but have found this one from Carbon Impact to work the best on the Parker UL31 and the Phoenix 34 for me.
