This will be my third year using a trap door. This is actually my second one, after a year, my first one got screwed up and would stay up. Other then that, it has worked great for me. It has always done its job and greatly improved my groups. No cables in the way either. I have Thought about switching to a drop-away rest with a cable though, because it really scares me to think that if the trap door ever decides that it doesn't want to stay up, there is nothing i can do about it. I am SOL. At least if you are using one with a cable, you should be able to fix it in your stand.
I guess until it fails me, I am going to stick with it. It serves its purpose very well

I'm surprised I don't see often see mention of the Vital drop-away rest. I have one on my MQ1 and it works perfectly. The arrow holding mechanism is the most clever that I've seen on any arrow rest. It cost $85, but it will pay for itself in fletching savings (in 20 years or so [8D]).

I havent shot it yet, when the rest falls..........do u just lift it back up and lock it into place?

Yup. Push it up with your finger til it locks. Bow must be upright though. Good luck.

Yup, just flip it back up. Doesnt have to be upright. To see it work, slap the front of your grip or somewhere on your bow. It should fall away when doing so. You'll have to set the sensativity to your liking. It's a good rest. Good luck with it.

Hmmmmm. For some reason my trap door wont reset unless the bow is upright. Shoots fine but if my bow is tilted or upside down it wont catch when trying to shoot again.

Thanks for the tips guys...........i shot it last night and WOW!!!!!
THAT ARROW WAS GONE LIKE LIGHTNIN!:D It really picked up some speed. I think i am really going to like this rest.
