I think the key there would be to get within the pines, where ASAT would again rise to the top, but that is obviously much easier said than done. Not always possible. Still, if I had to pick one camo to wear exclusively, I think that there are more cases where ASAT and Predator would work best than where they would not work at all.

PAB, I do see your point and your experiences with ASAT do carry weight. My thoughts are that with the Realtree and MO patterns, they are trying to look more like "something" rather than nothing, for lack of better terminology. Just curious, how did the deer react to you in the cases where you were caught? Having no experience with my Predator yet, I'm very interested to see. Personally, I think the Predator patterns do a better job of destroying you human form than does ASAT.

I guess what it boils down to is how well a deer can readily identify you as a human in the case where the deer do catch you move. Actually, it probably doesn't matter as deer are pretty paranoid critters to begin with.

PAB, I totally agree with you in the fact that all camo's do have their limitations and some work better in areas where others don't.

That is all that I was trying to convey. Thank you for putting it eloquently.

In all but one situation when they spooked I noticed them first. They looked right at me...gave the customary stomp of the foot and then gave me the tail....give or take 10 or 20 seconds.

In all honesty, I have had that happen with non-open patterns as well which is just the point I am trying to make. Match the camo to the terrain and do not expect one pattern to work well everywhere.

I was impressed enough to buy the ASAT outfit and look forward to trying it out in a few weeks. Actually I can't recall ever having a deer bust me based on sight alone. Usually I am done in by being upwind and scented or by movement. I generally am 16 feet up in my stands and try to have some kind of background to help break me up. In fact I have had many a deer look right at me for several minutes and not make me as long as I don't move. ..........Dabow

Once again, I see your post is getting notice.
To me that just says what ASAT does for the hunter. Astounds and awes them.
In the field it is much more impressive. It works wonders when you are scent free!!!!!!!

I would not use anything else...

Be well.

There not only great for hunting but also good for hiding from your wife when she is writing out the honey-do list!

What do you do when the leaves fall off? We only have leaves on the trees for the first couple weeks in bowseason (6 weeks long)

iam not gonna knock asat by any means its your all choice what you wanna wear.I have a 3-d leafy suit scent blocker plus and havent had a problem what so ever.guarntee you could take the same pics and get the same resultsand they have no pockets?what hunter doesnt need pockets to carry the stuff he needs? sounds like a design flaw imo.But as i said to each his own if it works for you and you beleive in it then thats all that matters bottom line.
