If you can afford it, look at Double Bull they are top of the line. Lucky Tent also makes a good one. There are a lot of cheap ones out there, some may suite your needs. Just remember you get what you pay for.

I'll second that!

I have the Ameristep Outhouse which is a great 1 man blind but is way to small for bowhunting. It is plenty tall so you can stand up (mostly) and stretch ur back but it lacks enough bottom area to draw a bow back with the bow still inside. ( I actually had to put my bow through the front door and my right elbow out the back window to draw back.)

I also have the Ameristep WigWam. It is a much larger area blind that should be good for bowhunting, but... it is much shorter than the doghouse so no back stretching I guess??

I would suggest trying out the displays in the stores... sit in them with another person and a bow if they'll loan you one. I would look for shoot through mesh and many window opening options.

I probably wouldn't be interested in the charcoal lined models but having a dark black interior is a big plus!

definately without a doubt the double bull if you can afford it, if not Easton makes one with the same popup style. The deals that all the rods hook into (can't think of the name) are designed the same way as the double bull.

Take a look at the AMERISTEP PENTHOUSE--i'm 6'5" and can shoot standing up in it and as far as durability i've had mine set up in the woods since LAST hunting season and being from minnesota that should tell you something about durability.I got mine for 160 bucks.

Ameristep has a couple that will suit you. We have used them (2 people WITH camera gear also to film & Bowhunt). We think they are great. Everyone says Double Bull but I could not justify the cost & as i said, very happy with Ameristep. Hope to get a P&Y on film from it this fall just b/4 I arrow him. Good Luck this fall.

Eastman outfitters makes a good one. Carbon lined, and also available with a safari system for breaking up the outline. The largest Double Bull is comparable to this one, and the Eastman is about 1/2 the price.

Has anyone ever had much luck hunting out of a ground blind? What situations do these work in?
