I used to do it until I wised up and started shooting open handed, I am sure one day I will do it again, but I sure hope not! Butch that is a nasty welt, I never had one even close to that!

I had a string break break once right at the end where it connects to the cam while I was at full draw. The string ended up wrapping around the botom of my bow and snapped my arm like a whip. I got a little target panic after that. [:@]

Luckily it's been quite some time since I've done this. I remember in high school we had archery in gym and a friend had Hoyt with an overdraw. He sai d" go ahead and shoot it" with no other instruction that that. The results were't pretty. No where near as bad as Il bow Man. Damn that must have hurt!

I always shoot open handed, but, this particular time, my wife came out the back door and said something about going to the store. I just remember hearing a "Hey, honey", just as a hit my release. [:-] I think I grabbed the bow hard, torqued it, and also turned to look at my wife, all in the matter of 0.32 seconds. S-L-A-P!!! is what I felt down my arm, as I was horribly out of position and startled all at the same time.
Butch A.
