RE: Are scent control products worth it??
I bought a Scent-Lok suit 2 years ago.Jacket, pants and hood cost about 230.00.I have not noticed a difference.I've always tried to be as scent free as possable anyway and always use the wind to my advantage. If I had it to do over again I would NOT have bought the suit.
I'm not saying they don't work but imo they are not worth the money.I would have been better off buying another bow, arrows, tree stand etc: I've also have tried certain spray bottles that say they cover your scent.Maybe I used too much but the deer were spooked and knew something was wrong.I watched them vacate the area while I was 20' up a tree. |

How does a person prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt either way?
Personally I never noticed a difference. On a related I item, I checked three sources for the X-static garments and two of the three were sold out until September. They were available through Cabelas, however it was limited to just the top and bottom, no other accessories. Obviously it too is having a big impact on the market. |

I would not hunt with out them. Although I do hunt the wind, on those days that the wind shifts I don't have to worry about it. Also I have noticed more deer under my stand with it. I believe in it.

I think they work and that's good enough for me. It makes me a little more confident. I also hunt the wind, but I feel I have an "extra edge" when I use my scentlok. Can I say 100% that it works, nope, but like I said before, I think it does and I want everything going my way when I'm hunting.

Save your money. Buy lots of no-odor soap.
Ive tried both Scent lok and Scent Blocker. I SB worked better but still not worth the extra$$. JMHO |
RE: Are scent control products worth it??
I have TWO sets. I find them uncomfortable, stiffling, smothering, hot, etc etc. I wore mine exactly ZERO times last year. I saw the same deer as I'd seen the 2 years before or for that matter the last 10 years with or without. Be clean, wash your clothes, practice some scent control, and above all else... HUNT THE WIND. There's no deer that can smell you if you hunt the wind. The crap is way over rated and I suspect that most of these claims of "deer not smelling me" would have been anyway. "The wind was blowing straight at them and they never knew....."( but in fact if you throw up a wind floater you'd see it go out about 10 yards and make a U turn or hard left or something straight away from the deer. A couple cans of wind floaters will cost you $10 and last you for years. They're great little tools for finding those hidden wind shifts and currents.
