RE: EVER MISSED AND DID NOT KNOW ?

I shot a nice six point about eight yrs. ago the weird thing is i thought i completly missed? so i sat back down and waited for about four hrs. longer when i got down and went to retreive my arrrow i notice a slite bit of blood on one of the fletchings:eek: i put the arrow back in the quiver and started walking in the direction the deer ran in and after eighty or so yrds. there he was laying on the ground?:) i was shooting a fixed blade broadhead and when i shot one of the blades just barely cut his throught enuff to couse him to bleed out:) I only wished i knew it sooner becouse it was 18 degrees out that morning and i was freezing:D

my old man was rattling horns one mourning and a pencil rack 8 point came running in and stoped 25 yards away he shot him in the neck the buck shook the arrow out and walked away, puzzled he blew the grunt call and the buck turned and put his ears back and walked within 10 yards , the second arrow went throught the vitals , the buck ran ten feet then stood there looking around for about a minute the fell over , that was one buck with his adrenalin flowing and one tought lil 8 point

I've been the exact oposite on two deer. I took a small 6 a few years back that I didn't know I hit until he bounced 30 yards away from where I shot, stood there looking back, then started to fall back on his hind legs and collapse to the ground 30 seconds later.

Its kinda funny when you make a shot that you think you missed, and didn't and to make a shot that you tell yourself you can't miss and miss.

YUP.... About 25 years agoo in Georgia I flung an arrow at a high stepping doe in some mature pines. Just about the time the arrow should have gotten there I heard this BIG .... "WHACK". I watched her run figuring I'd see her pile up in the pines. Welllllll,,, she just kept running and running. When I climbed down to go pick up my bloody arrow I found it stuck in a small volunteer pine that was about a foot behind the doe. You could see where she bugged out and threw pine straw everywhere. Looks like I shot right under her and skewered the tree. I was positive I had deer meat.

A couple years ago in Indiana i had this big mature 8 point standing on this side hill that was almost verticle. He was 35 yards broadside. There was one hole to shoot through. I let it go, the arrow arched through the hole and I hear "THUNK". The buck almost fell doing a back flip. I agains expected to see him fall. He just kept going and going. This hole was about 6 inches big. THe deer was filling it. I picked up my binos and could see my arrow burried in the steep hillside right in the middle of the hole where the deers ribcage had been. I climbed down and went to see how much blood was on the arrow. When I got there it TOO was clean and stuck in a punky log burried in the leaves.[&:] The deer crossed the creek, went up a hill, across the point of this field and ended up standing 15 yards broadside to my nephew..... who promptly blew the shot and the 8 point eluded death again, twice in a 5 minute span.
