What is meant by "Bend at the Waste"????

???? Ive read it over and over on this forum but dont understand exactly what is meant by it on shot form from a tree stand.

If im standing and aiming at a deer or target below no matter how I bend the bow is still aimed in the same direction correct?

The bow is but your arms aren't. I have trouble bending at the waist. One of your arms is horizontal and the other is slanted, causing a bad release.

You need to hold your bow in your usual anchor position. It's like canting your bow but instead of going to the right or left your going down. If you don't bend at the waist to keep the bow in line with your upper body then more than likley your shot is going to hit lowwer than you are aiming.

Try this to get the feel, draw your bow straight then acquire the target below without moving your arms. Only one way to do this and it is bending at the waist!

By dropping your arm to acquire the target below you in fact change your draw length, why when doing so your POI shifts up. If you bend at the waist there will be no difference in POI from an elavated position vs ground.

Just don't be bending at the waste if some of these folks are standing behind you.[&:]

I just collapse my lead knee and you automatically shift the weight to the front foot and your body tips.

you always keep your bow arm the same you just accomodate your position to the deer your stance stays the same thats all it is

Good example Washington hunter ! If you use your arm's to leanover you'll have trouble lining up your peep with your pins as well ,if your body does the bending everything falls into place at once without having to find your peep and pins.
