Last year I had a lot of reports of 2 big bucks being seen is a alfalfa field on my property. I decided to do some food plots this year and check this place out. Directly behind the alfalfa field there is a small 2 acre field with a small thicket in the SE corner and a creek running along the W side and also the along the E side. It is bordered by a cattle field on the south. There is also a small knoll on the south side. You can see the whole field from this spot. This spot has never been hunted. I have decided to try hunting it this year. What do you think?

Hard to say without actually walking the place, but it sounds like a good set up. inside corners are always great spots to nail a buck. the big boys wont get out into the field during legal shooting hours though. get back in the area they travel from the bedding to the feeding area. they wait for darkness to fall back there and then they gorge on the alfalfa or whatnot. also, when planting your plots, think about stand sites first. plant all your plots so you can hunt them or hunt in the woods near them. when i plant my plots, i make sure im going to be able to play the wind and if theres good funnels. good luck
