RE: Passing time on stand...
I have enough to think about at home and work - In stand I just turn most of the thought processes off and enjoy the quiet.

RE: Passing time on stand...
i picture where the deer are going to come from, what they are going to do and where am i going to shoot them when they do come by. other than that, i pass time scanning with my eyes and listening for any noise, where it is squirrel or a deer. I daydream about past hunts and hunts still to come. one thing i try to do is forget about everything else that needs to get done outside of hunting!

RE: Passing time on stand...
Most of the time I daydream. Often I just relax and wonder at how I became so blessed in my life. Some times I just sit and pray and thank God. Other times I just sit and don't think about anything.:)

when on stand i just watch everything. i also like to pray to my creator and Lord Almighty and thank him for just being out there. i ask for safety of other hunters and that i can execute the shot correctly when it comes.

Sit still and enjoy the scenery. After a while you learn the signs that other animals - squirrels, birds, chipmunks, etc - give when a larger animal is in the area. Then every once in a while, my mind will wander. There is no place I feel more at peace than in my treestand.

RE: Passing time on stand...
Well I used to wonder about the what ifs....but that stressed me out
I always enjoy watching the woods wake up weather it be from the porch with a cup of coffee or from the stand with my bow.....but mostly i catch up on rest.....light napping I can still notice the distant leaves rustle, or that odd note in natures song that make you open your eyes and scan your view.....hell most of the deer Ive killed woke me up |
RE: Passing time on stand...
