Default Change in Bohning vanes

I was talking on the Cabela's live chat and told them about my problem. They said that the Bohning vanes changed the material they used in the vanes. I went to Bass Pro and bought one of each pack, not knowing about the change. I fletched my arrows and noticed. They were both the Fletch-Tite vanes in yellow and white. The yellow was a hard slick plastic and the white was a soft rubbery plastic. Which ones are better to use? Would Bass Pro let me exchange them?
