Your thoughts on bows

I have been hunting with my bow for nine years. It is definately time for a change. My question is, what would be a good bow that does not cost a fortune? I only hunt whitetails. Also due to a back injury i have to limit myself to 50-60#'s. Thanks for any info.

You can find a good PSE for a good price. Depends on your spending limit. You can go to ebay and find a top of the line PSE or Archery Research for a good deal.

I LOVE my new Bowtech Liberty I just got. It is very smooth!!! But no matter what you get, make sure to check out as many bows as you can and find the one that fits and feels right to you.

Thank you for your thoughts. Bows have gotten more complex in nine years. Hard to know what is good. The only feature i think i definately have to have is a one cam system. Am i right in that respect? I would like to find something decent for under $300.

I would check out Martin's line. I've had a Martin Jaguar for 2 or 3 years now and really liked it. I only paid (bare bow) $235 for it brand new. There a nice, durable, and cheep.

Look at Martin, PSE and Reflex. They all have decent bows in the price range you're looking at.

There are very good used bows out there too, if you know enough about bows to pick the pearls from the poop. I see a lot of what used to be top of the line bows 10 years back that are going for under $100. The guy that shot the Texas state record whitetail here a couple years ago was shooting an old PSE he got in a pawn shop for a whopping $75.

Under $300 - PSE, Pearson 440 quad, Browning Tornado. Look at cabelas bargain cave under archery - plenty there!!

Got mine for under $350 new.
