Hardwood bottoms during bowseason. Hardwood ridges during gun season. I just love Georgia hardwoods:)

I like field edgesand fence lines. Tall and thick weeds from unfarmed fields seem to produce deer. Most of what I hunt are farms so thats what I get. My game cam helps scout when Im not there but I like to see where they come from and go so I can move to thoes places. Fields are good for this. I have had success on stalking on two occasions on deer 100 to 200 yards away. Be willing to move your stand!!!!

RE: swamp, hardwoods, or feilds

I mostly hunt hardwood ridge line, gulleys and swamps. I am mostly a ground pounder so I need to play the wind. Depending on the fickle nature of our winds I must be constantly aware of the current situation. Most of my big fellas are swamp dwellers so I post up in some real gnarly crap with very little shooting possibilities. I use their natural cover to conceal myself and don't try to alter their home in any manner. This practice does not allow for many shots but that's why those big critters live there. There is no more exciting time than hearing the plodding splashes, rustling reeds as they progress down their hidden trail towards your post. EXCITEMENT PERSONIFIED!
