RE: Easiest to draw?
ORIGINAL: b2simple I just bought a Bowtech Liberty, but before I did, I tried a lot of different bows, and IMO, the Bowtech Liberty was the smoothest drawing bow. Same here. Mathews' Outback was nice, too, but the Liberty was noticeably easier, IMO. |
RE: Easiest to draw?
It really is up to you on what bow pulls easy, because i draw a black max 2 and love it. but i have pulled a few other bows and thought they where pretty smooth as well.

RE: Easiest to draw?
Due to shoulder problems I purchased my latest bow with my top priority being a nice easy draw and I tried all of the above except Oneida.
Try all of the above and then try a Mathews Icon!;) |
RE: Easiest to draw?
Cam design won't matter too much for overall performance. I find that the "harder" cams have a lower maximum draw weight for me, but put out about the same force as round cams or wheels drawn that I can draw at higher draw weights. In both cases, you get out of it, what you put into it. Pick any bow you like and then pick the draw weight according to how you want it to feel. You will end up with similar speeds no matter what the bow is. No bow company has figured out a magic formula. They just give us different methods of storing the energy. Some find it easier to draw a bow that builds to peak draw weight quickly, and to shoot that bow at a lower maximum draw weight. Others prefer the feel of building peak weight gradually and to reach a higher maximum draw weight. Either way, energy in = energy out - less friction.
Myself, I have shoulder problems that make it difficult to get the draw started, so I prefer bows that build gradually and that I can draw to higher peak weights. I'm now shooting a Merlin with Omega cams that fit that description. There are many choices, and you should have little problem finding a cam style that you prefer the feel of. |
