Easiest to draw?
Which bow pound for pound is the easiest to draw?
|
RE: Easiest to draw?
Bowtech Liberty, Justice, Pro40... IE Bowtechs w/ the freedom cam. Just about the smoothest bows on the market.
|
RE: Easiest to draw?
Parker EZ-Draw. Hands down.
|
RE: Easiest to draw?
It all depends on you, everyone is different. The only advice I could give you is go to you pro shop and draw different bows back and make your decision.

RE: Easiest to draw?
So......for those of you that have owned more than 5 bows in 3 years.............what do you recommend?
|
RE: Easiest to draw?
the liberty, the legacy and the gladiator with the easy draw cam from diamond archery
|
RE: Easiest to draw?
From what I have tried :
BT Liberty Then it would be some hair splittling between a Razortec , LX , Patriot VFT, or Outback !! Haven't tried a Parker EZ draw ! |
RE: Easiest to draw?
Outback
|
RE: Easiest to draw?
I personally think my Martin Panther Mag with Fusion cam is the smoothest I've drawn.
I've drawn several others, and, for my taste, it doesn't get any smoother. No harsh walls, not narrow valley to rip your arm off. Perfect in my book. |
RE: Easiest to draw?
The Bowtech Liberty is the smoothest and easiest bow I have ever drawn.
|
RE: Easiest to draw?
Either the Hoyt ProTec or Reflex Caribou with Accuwheels or the PSE Nova with Vector wheels. You can't beat an energy wheel for easy drawing.
I haven't drawn a recent model Onieda but they used to be, by far, the smoothest drawing bows you could get that had hard cam performance. |
RE: Easiest to draw?
Parker EZ-Draw. Hands down. |
RE: Easiest to draw?
Smoothest and easiest of all is the Oneida...always has been...
If I had to pick a more conventional bow, and ultimate ease of draw was my concern..I'd probably go with the Mathews Icon or Parker Ez-draw...just so easy to draw. after that I'd go with the BowTech F-cams..PSE synergy cams, Hoyt accuwheels.. |

I just bought a Bowtech Liberty, but before I did, I tried a lot of different bows, and IMO, the Bowtech Liberty was the smoothest drawing bow.

RE: Easiest to draw?
I tried quite a few before deciding on the Razortec for just that reason. Great draw cycle, a solid wall and a big enough valley.
I also agree with arthur P--the oneida was one smoooooooth drawing bow years ago. I never owned one, but I had friends who did and they were unparalled in smoothness. |
RE: Easiest to draw?
DARTON

So......for those of you that have owned more than 5 bows in 3 years.............what do you recommend? Or you could look at a Bear Whitetail circa 1980 or so. :) What price range are we talking about here? |
RE: Easiest to draw?
I still have three Oniedas because they draw so smooth, they tend to be heavier bows and longer than I like as well. The Mathews Icon has a very smooth draw that allows you to letdown without tearing you arm out of its socket.
Good luck hunting! |

Thanks everyone for your feedback......

RE: Easiest to draw?
ORIGINAL: b2simple I just bought a Bowtech Liberty, but before I did, I tried a lot of different bows, and IMO, the Bowtech Liberty was the smoothest drawing bow. Same here. Mathews' Outback was nice, too, but the Liberty was noticeably easier, IMO. |
RE: Easiest to draw?
It really is up to you on what bow pulls easy, because i draw a black max 2 and love it. but i have pulled a few other bows and thought they where pretty smooth as well.

RE: Easiest to draw?
My 40lb recure is real easy to draw:D
|
RE: Easiest to draw?
Due to shoulder problems I purchased my latest bow with my top priority being a nice easy draw and I tried all of the above except Oneida.
Try all of the above and then try a Mathews Icon!;) |
RE: Easiest to draw?
Cam design won't matter too much for overall performance. I find that the "harder" cams have a lower maximum draw weight for me, but put out about the same force as round cams or wheels drawn that I can draw at higher draw weights. In both cases, you get out of it, what you put into it. Pick any bow you like and then pick the draw weight according to how you want it to feel. You will end up with similar speeds no matter what the bow is. No bow company has figured out a magic formula. They just give us different methods of storing the energy. Some find it easier to draw a bow that builds to peak draw weight quickly, and to shoot that bow at a lower maximum draw weight. Others prefer the feel of building peak weight gradually and to reach a higher maximum draw weight. Either way, energy in = energy out - less friction.
Myself, I have shoulder problems that make it difficult to get the draw started, so I prefer bows that build gradually and that I can draw to higher peak weights. I'm now shooting a Merlin with Omega cams that fit that description. There are many choices, and you should have little problem finding a cam style that you prefer the feel of. |
