Bear season opens August 1st and I'm nowhere near as ready as I need to be. Be that as it may, I can't wait!

I'm far from ready.

I just picked up my new bow 2 weeks ago (2004 Vipertec). My rest is on, nock point set, peep tied in, and kisser buttons put on. My new sight should be here via UPS from Cabela's tomorrow, then I just have to put it on, refletch all my arrows, and tune this bad boy up. I've got 2.5 months till WI bow opener, so I should be ready in time.

The 4th of July weekend I'm making the 3 hr ride up to my lease to set out some game cams and do a little more preseason scouting. Then I'll be back mid-August for one last look around, set up stands, and then the next time I go out there I'll be climbing into my tree and trying to bad a big one. Woo Woo.

I'm excited, but I can't say that I'm ready yet. Still have to get my bow set up, then practice, practice, and practice some more. It's been a while since I've let some arrows fly. Excited yes, but ready no. I had a "deer dream" a couple of nights ago though.

I have stuff scattered betwee two different places. But starting on Tuesday I'll be putting it all back together again. Even have a stop at the Brand New BassPro in Auburn NY scheduled. The wife is shopping for hunting gear for my birthday coming soon. Just can't wait till October. I'll be Off work for the whole of hunting season.
I am envious of you fellows that get such a early start and a long season. NY needs to extend its bow and move it up.
Good Luck to All

I've been ready, but I saw a nice velvet buck in my field the other day and now I can't hardly stand it.
