Peep sights??
 

I've used a couple different peep sights for nearly 20 years. On more than one occassion, the use of a peep, in low light conditions, has prevented me from being able to take shot in the fading minutes of the evening. Even enlargening the sight hole hasn't helped much in most cases.

What do the most of you do to prevent this? What type of peep would you recommend or what modifications might prevent this??

Get rid of the peep and get a No-Peep.

I got rid of both my peep and fiber optic pins and went to a Red Dot Scope. I swear by it.

I found the No-Peep here: Timberline Archery. I hope this isn't a battery powered device?? Not interested if it is.

How do you actually set up the no peep? I don't understand the logistics of pulling your bow back to your anchor point, then lining up the no-peep, or exactly how it is done? Do you find that it is difficult to learn to use? Also, it sounds like the no-peep won't line up if there is anything changed in your set-up. Do you have to change your no-peep each time you change something with your set up?

The No-Peep comes with full set up instructions.

Drawing the bow with your eyes closed 1/2 a dozen times to your anchor points.
Once you have done this install the No-Peep then draw the bow with your eyes closed to your anchor points then open your eyes adjust the No-Peep repeat as needed till everything lines up.

In short no but if you change out sights then you will have to re-align the No-Peep as the mounting bracket goes under your sight bracket.

For the first couple of weeks you will probably go from looking at the No-Peep back to your sights but once you get used to it just a quick glance for reference is all you will probably do.

The one big thing that the No-Peep will do is give you a consistant anchor point and let you know if there is any touque or you if you have anchored in a different position.

I used the no peep - I am back to a peep - I am much more accurate with a peep.

I use a magnum 5/16 hole. If I cant see through it its to dark to shoot IMO.

I'm with Rack.......a peep helps my accuracy a lot !!

I shoot with my left eye closed .......however.....running into this problem....I was told to shoot with both eyes open !

I have practiced like this and wouldn't shoot this way all the time.....but when it is dark and you open both eye's you can see your pin much better !

It has helped me bag a few !!! But I wouldn't shoot like that over 20 yrds either !! And I wouldn't do it without practicing either !!
