When and where

When and where did the term SLOB buck come from? I have heard them called a lot of things but never SLOB's????????? I have been reading the term in several posts in the last couple of weeks and wondered where it came from or if it is suppose to stand for something. To me it sounds stupid and derrogatory but I didn't know if SLOB was an acronym for something, a new term, or an old term that I am just now hearing. [:'(]

Yea, that's what makes it sound derrogatory to me. I guess I just don't understand why out of all the terms there are out there that are used to refer to big deer, why people want to refer to them as slobs?????????????

Because thats what they are...........LOL:D

I use that term - I think it comes from fishing - like a big fat, monster bellied, huge bass.

I read that smae post and thought for sure he had nailed a poacher or tresspasser. I've heard plenty of names for big deer but never slob.

I think of a slob deer as one that has advanced CWD. Kinda like a mad cow. stumbling along and druleing.

I can't figure out why you would call something you like, respect, hold dear to you, etc a slob....especially when the word is most commonly referred to when describing an idiot, bum, messy, sloppy, etc. It doesn't even fit!

It's just a word to describe a buck. No need to get bent out of shape over it fellas.

This is a slob.

This is a nice buck (Texas buck, naturally;))
